Swedish Massage
|
|

|
A classic European massage technique of the muscles with special oils by
therapeutic stroking and kneading of muscle tissue to promote stress relief. It is used to improve
circulation, relieve muscle pain and tension, increase flexibility and induce relaxation. It
combines three basic strokes to the skin: long firm strokes, kneading strokes and small circles.
This is the most requested and one of the most enjoyable massages.

Deep Tissue Massage
|
|
Used to release
chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure or friction applied across
the grain of the muscles. This invigorating experience is a process of detection of stiff or
painful areas by determining the quality and texture of the deeper layers of musculature, and
slowly working into deep layers of muscle tissue. Specific hand positions and stokes are then used
to respond to various tissue qualities. Techniques employing breath and movement are used for
releasing muscular congestion.

|
A form of massage which utilizes
specific stokes and stretches to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning with
less chance of injury or pain. It increases power, endurance, and flexibility both before and after
an event or workout.

Thai Massage
|
|

|
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage.
Thai massage is also called Yogasage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and
feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing
yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during
treatment. People describe Thai massage as both relaxing and energizing. In this massage, loose
clothing is worn. |
